What information do we collect?
We may collect, store and use the following kinds of personal data. You have the right to request the information we hold, at any time and decide what we do with it.
Personal information provided by you - names, addresses, contact details and consenting veterinary surgeons are required for me to provide canine myotherapy and other related services. This data will only ever be used to support the provision of treatment, process payments and to ensure that I continue to comply with the Veterinary Surgery Act (1966).
Processing your personal data
Personal data submitted via this website or subsequent direct email communication will be processed for the purposes of the provision of canine myotherapy and other related services in a manner which might reasonably be expected as part of your dog’s treatment. We may, therefore, use your personal information to:
Send you general communication in relation to your dog's treatment.
Maintain treatment notes and clinical records on your dog’s treatment.
Provide effective veterinary reporting following treatment
Send you specifically requested email notifications and treatment reminders.
Maintain back-ups of our databases and communications with you
Enable you to book myotherapy treatment and other related services through the website

We will never provide your information to any third parties unless required to by law.
When our newsletter sign-up becomes available, you will be able to sign up via the website and be informed of new workshops, activities, events and general news. Being a new or existing client of Moorland Canine does not mean that you have automatically opted-in to receiving the newsletter.
If you choose to sign up, your details will be held electronically in our secure system and used to send this newsletter via email. You will be in complete control of what you receive and will be able to opt-out of the newsletter and any further marketing communications at any time. This action will not opt you out of any other forms of direct communication in relation to your dog’s treatment.
Data retention and security procedures
The European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) ensures that you have more control over your personal data and how it is used. It introduces changes to the information that an organisation must provide to individuals relating to how it uses and stores personal data.
As such, personal data that we process for the provision of canine myotherapy or other related services shall not be kept for longer than is necessary for that purpose. The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons does not specify for how long veterinary clinical and client records should be retained however we will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary. For example, whilst you remain a Moorland Canine client plus a further five years, or following treatment, immediately if you request your information to be deleted. You can at any time request your details are removed from our database, but equally, you can request to have your dog’s records kept for longer where it is mutually agreed to be appropriate.
We will retain your personal data in the following manner:
Clinical records will be kept secure and confidential at all times and there will be a secure back-up in place where records are stored electronically.
Client personal, financial information and any other sensitive information will be recorded and retained separately from your dog’s clinical records.
Data transmission over the internet is inherently insecure, therefore to ensure the security of your data, any further correspondence with me following your initial enquiry via the website will use an email encryption service.
As a Moorland Canine client, you are entitled to access, correct, delete and limit the processing of your personal data. Please let us know as soon as possible if the personal information which we currently hold about you needs to be corrected or updated by emailing us at email@example.com
At your dog’s initial consultation I will discuss the implications of this with you in person and review any concerns you may have. I will ask you to sign a consent to image and data retention form clarifying the retention and use of your data in the provision of myotherapy services to your dog and how you can request it be removed. This will also include requesting your consent to the use of treatment photographs for marketing purposes.
